Notes from a bookseller

7/7/26: Today was supposed to be my day off. I left the door unlocked for a delivery, and one customer wandered in. Then another. Judy, a 77-year-old woman with rose tattoos, settled into the reading corner for a chat while Sir Wigglesworth decided she was worthy of an introduction. Another customer told me he'd be back because his wife would love the store. Someone else wants to bring his daughters... And all on a day I wasn't supposed to be open!
